For more than 15 years, our master painters engaged in the painting of Russian Orthodox Christian icons, executed both in a canonical and picturesque manners. In our studio there are masters of different ages, different levels and different techniques of painting. But each work features strict approach to compliance with the canons of iconography, attention to the details, professionalism and high speed. Most of the icons are written to order. However, the most popular and loved icons are available. The Orthodox icon-painting workshop "Tradition" was founded in 1998 by Boris Sherchnev with the blessing of the rector of the Church of Penza in the name of St. Mitrofan Bishop of Voronezh Priest John.
Boris Sherchnev was born on the 2nd December, 1956. In 1977 he was graduated from Penza Art School. After school, in addition to the classical painting, he was engaged in painting churches and manufacturing iconography.
He graduated from St. Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Institute in 1998 with the degree in "Iconography". From that moment, the painting of icons was the only thing to which Boris devoted himself.
Boris Sherchnev is a member of the Union of Russian Artists. Moreover, he was awarded the medal of the Russian Academy of Arts.
